Velentium Appoints Mark Harris as Vice President of Operations

Industry veteran and experienced R&D executive to fuel long-term growth for medical device firm

HOUSTON – Oct. 9, 2020 – Velentium, a fast-growing professional engineering firm that specializes in the design and manufacturing of therapeutic and diagnostic active medical devices for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 100s, announced today that Mark Harris has been named vice president of operations. In his new role, Harris will lead the company’s product development, manufacturing and strategic initiatives.

Harris brings more than 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, including seven years with Stryker, where he served as senior manager of research and development (R&D) before joining the senior leadership team as the director of a divisional R&D organization. Prior to Stryker, Harris held various management roles at Medtronic in implantable pulse generator (IPG) operations, neuromodulation program management, test systems engineering and software development. He launched his career at Intermedics as a test-systems engineer developing solutions for implantable pacemakers, defibrillators, device leads and programmers.

In his new position based in Houston, Texas, Harris plans to build-out core competencies needed to integrate patient therapies through connected care with a focus on patient privacy and security. His appointment will help Velentium focus on developing innovative medical technology while keeping patients at the forefront of its mission.

Harris graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and has held board member roles on the Medtronic Foundation and Community Health Charities of Arizona.
